Australia's medtech companies are creating world-class products, but many aren't getting into our own hospitals. At the same time, health services are under pressure with stretched budgets, rising costs, and not enough local supply.
It is a disconnect that holds everyone back. Manufacturers struggle to understand how hospitals buy, and health services miss out on capable local suppliers sitting right on their doorstep. AMMA exists to fix that gap.

Addressing the challenges SME medtech manufacturers face
The Australian Medtech Manufacturing Alliance (AMMA) is dedicated to addressing the critical challenges facing local SME medtech manufacturers, with a focus on enhancing procurement pathways and increasing the share of locally made medtech in Australia's healthcare system.
Founded in October 2024 and led by the BioMelbourne Network with seed funding from the Victorian Government, AMMA is building the connections, knowledge and pathways that turn great Australian medical technology into better care for patients.
